I haven't done a whole lot with Audacity, but I don't think it really compares on the same level as something like Garage Band or Logic Pro X.
I've heard Audacity can do multi-track recordings, I believe, but for one thing, I don't think Audacity has a library of virtual instruments that can be played with a MIDI keyboard/controller like Garage Band & similar programs have.
