  • Gating QWK <-> FTN using SBBS

    What programs and configuration areas would I look at to setup gating QWK and USENET to other systems via FTN? I have an ENiGMA board I'm working on in parallel and would like it to be able to access DOVE-NET and USENET via my SBBS board.

    Does ENiGMA only support FTN (i.e. not QWK or NNTP)?

    In any case, gating requires that you set the "gate between net-types" option to "Yes" for each gated sub-board which tells SBBS that you intentionally mixing network types and expect messages imported via one network technology (e.g. QWK) to be export to another (e.g. FTN). That's really the only special setting related to gating.

    Looks like QWK is supported directly by Enigma.

    The codebase is apparently 90% complete on QWK networking, but it's not in a usable state yet. I did get it setup though, wasn't too difficult. Just a lot of little things to remember to set right.
