It's too late to try to "fix" the fracture. The Democrats embrace of the Woke wackos pushed the classical liberals out of the party. So there is no Democrat party anymore. There's only the Socialist party calling themselves "Democrats".

Problem is is that some liberal ideas are Free Speech and you shouldn't kill people that you disagree with.

Without additional context beyond what you provided, I don't see a problem
with either of those ideas. Do you have an issue with Free Speech or not kiling people you disagree with?
