    I think Trump is owned by the Big Tech bros and thats why he is cheerleading this industry. However, its one of the main issues
    I strongly disagree with the president.

    They don't seem to be worrying about safety, just getting as big
    as possible as fast as they can. You so often hear about AI systems
    doing things on their own without being 'asked' and in cases having
    rewritten their own code to give themselves more access or power
    than their makers intended. And it's just getting started..

    They don't seem to be worrying about safety, just getting as
    big as possible as fast as they can. You so often hear about AI
    systems doing things on their own without being 'asked' and in
    cases having rewritten their own code to give themselves more
    access or power than their makers intended. And it's just
    getting started..

    I just today posted an article about how Chinese AI companies are working on a way to allow AI "entities" to communicate with each other directly. Someone is going to find that "oopsie" switch and we are all going to be cooked.

    When this all started I thought it might not happen in my lifetime. Now, I suspect it will happen much sooner.

    China is different than here. Here, and it most Western countries, I have to wonder what the motivation is. Someone will say "money" but what good is that when you accidentally wipe society out?

    I think in most places that it's not so much about money as it is
    they want to control a powerful thing, and have the most powerful
    one there is.. If it were all about money you'd hear more about
    how most of them are losing a lot of money on AI systems..

    On another note of interest (hopefully). The Tumbler Ridge school
    shooting in B.C. Canada has sparked 40 lawsuits against Open AI
    for not reporting that it was going to happen.. but a lot more
    info came out about that today. Apparently when the shooter was
    trying to get help planning the shooting through Open AI, it was
    blocked, so he want to ChatGPT and asked it how to get past the
    block in Open AI (basically just say it's fictional or theoretical)
    and he finally got all the info he/she needed.. (Trans thing)
    6 were killed and 27 injured in that one..

    There is that, too, for sure. Again, while I see immediate value in that, including maybe making sure you're the last ones left standing, I don't see
    the long-term value in it. Maybe to assist in oppressing the few people
    you have left?

    I have heard a little about that. Another case of the suspect being known
    to police for having a history of mental illness and an interest in killing people... and I thought they only let those types run free here in the
    States. :(
