State of the Union 2026

It was the longest State of the Union ever. If you take away the lies, it was one of the shortest ever. So the quality certainly didn't improve with a longer speech.

There were some horrific things in the speech that clearly illustrate what a terrible person Trump really is.

For example, he joked about the fact that no fisherman in Venezuela dares to go out to sea anymore for fear of being blown up by the Americans. Make jokes about that...

And Trump was full of energy when he used racist language, while he was incredibly low on other matters.

But the most important thing was the lies. They outnumbered the facts that were actually correct.

That's what makes it all so sad. He literally lies about everything. And the Republicans just stood up and applauded. The bigger the lie, the more enthusiastically they jumped.

I can only call it disgusting. Trump's behavior and the behavior of the Republican sycophants who make Trump's nonsense possible.

You can't expect these people to intervene. Putting as much distance as possible between the rest of the world and the US is the best advice.
