  • What have American defense strategists been up to?

    The Americans in the Middle East are taken aback by the enormous quantities of Shaheed drones being fired by Iran. That is why Zelensky wondered aloud what American strategists have been doing for the past four years.

    A valid question, because it was Iran that supplied Russia with thousands of Shaheed drones.

    The Ukrainians who are now supposed to assist the Americans are baffled by how the Americans are trying to shoot down the Shaheeds. They literally saw an example where six exorbitantly expensive Patriot missiles were fired at a single Shaheed drone costing only a few tens of thousands of euros. The Patriots cost a million each, and currently only 800 can be manufactured per year.

    The Americans are using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, and they don't seem to care at all.

    It is therefore no surprise that they need another 200 billion dollars. Whereas Ukraine has become incredibly resourceful and can do a lot with little money, Americans can do very little for a lot of money.

    It has been baffling to watch. Of
    course the short answer is that the
    military is slow to adjust.

    When I was in the Army, very briefly,
    09-13, I was in the 1-509th Infantry.
    For those who don't know, that's part
    of JRTC, a training center for the
    Army. Around the time I was getting out
    we were transitioning from replicating
    Taliban and Iraqi militias to starting
    to mimic what we percieved Iranian
    ground forces might might like. Now,
    in 2011-2012, no one was thinkin of
    drones in the way that you see from
    Ukraine, Russia, and Iran. We had
    a small set of drones, I don't know
    the exact count, just for
    reconaissance.


    Now, that was 13 years ago, but it's
    only since the Ukraine invasion tht
    the full scope of drone warfare
    has revealed itself between near
    peer militaries. So it's not
    surprising tht the US hasn't had
    time to really craft actual doctrine
    and prepare for this fight at scale.


    Which is more reason why this war is
    fuckin stupid, we haven't even
    adjusted to the situation on the
    ground yet and we want to go in
    swining our dicks. Well our
    cock is about to get teeth marks.

    free than you think they aren't under
    their current government? Why are we
    still doin Cold War shit? Let them
    have their Communist government as
    long as want and if they want to rebel
    let them do so. They can handle their
    own domestic issues. End the
    embargo and let them get on with their
    lives.

    In these types of governments who has the guns?? Not the citizens, the government has them. ~30-40K people killed in one week in Iran as the people protested their government.

    Try to escape and or protest in North Korea and live to talk about it.

    People swim 90 nautical miles in shark infested water to escape Cuba.

    I personally know Cubans and they are excited about the chance to be free from their governments tyranny.
