  • What have you been listening to lately?

    From mathpunk@mathpunk@tilde.team to tilde.art.music on Thu Nov 20 02:16:44 2025
Apologies if I do something wrong in this post, I'm pretty new to NNTP.

A couple days ago, I discovered an album called Heavy is the Hauler by Kingseeker[0], and I've really been enjoying it!

Lately, I've also been listening to a lot of Liquids[1], Amyl and the Sniffers[2], and c_robo_[3].

What have you been listening to? What kind of music do you like?

Thanks for sharing these. I like many types of music! I recently
discovered a new (to me) band named blackshape that I have really enjoyed.
I first heard their song ITIIITIATIIHYLIHYL, and it got me hooked. They've also recently released a new EP that's solid [0].

I also recently started listening to Dead Sara [1], though I gather
there's some controversy around them, I don't know much about that, and
I'm not sure I want to dig into it.

I'm always interested in finding great new music, so thanks for the
    thread!

On the contrary, this is first post in 2.5 years. Good on you for
resurrecting action. (that said, I'm new here too)

Lately, I've also been listening to a lot of Liquids[1]

Thanks for linking this -- I hopped around the Liquids' Bandcamp page
finding good stuff. It also sent me down a side quest, realizing that
they're from Indiana and that not knowing enough about Zero Boys is a
big gap in my punk history, despite, pun intended, living in the 80s.

To answer your question honestly, I've been listening a lot to
Tilderadio[1]. DJs Kate and Kyoko play sets that speak to me, between
soul and R&B and different generations and niches of pop punk or J-pop,
but in general it's great to have on, and the old PSAs and commercials in-between throughout are awesome.

It's also speaks to my current musical laziness: being in and out of a
rut of playing what I've listened to forever, and depending on mixes.
For that I've leaned on NTS Radio. The Skate Muzik show[2] both gives me proper nostalgia and connects me with skating today, and that's how I've
always discovered new music, through skate videos or friends met through skating. And because that show exists there, I've found other awesome
stuff, like this mix on the history of the Rhodes piano[3] that I
    replay frequently.
